Jeffrey Kantowitz is an experienced land use and zoning attorney and attorney who has been providing exceptional representation to clients in New Jersey for more than 30 years. His New Jersey roots go deep – all the way back to his Fair Lawn childhood. And, he is proud to be raising his own family in the state he calls home. He received his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in chemistry, from Yeshiva University. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School and completed additional studies in land use law and planning at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the New York and New Jersey state courts, the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Jeffrey served as a member, including Chairman and Vice Chairman, of the Fair Lawn Planning Board. He served as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School, teaching courses in legal writing and land development. He also was a Fellow of Leadership New Jersey, Class of 1996.

Jeffrey is a member of the Land Use Law section of the New Jersey Bar Association, and he served as a Trustee for several years.

Jeffrey is always gratified when a call from an existing, former, or new client, saying “I went to get a permit to do some construction and the town official said ‘You need to get permission and approval from the zoning or planning board,’” ultimately ends with the board granting the client the necessary approval and/or variance.
